The Role Of Museums In Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection

The globalization and modernization has brought both crisis and opportunity for the protection of the intangible heritage.On the one hand,some intangible heritage fade away and even are endangered because they are not adapted to modern life and people's aesthetic view.The display and exhibition without spiritual connotation drived by the economic benefits,which are misleading the public's cognition On the other hand,these factors have attracted more attention to the protection and development of intangible heritage.They are the attention of the relevant state departments,the development of science and technology,the huge profits brought by the intangible heritage industry and the growing spiritual and cultural demands of people.The development of heritage theory and the function of the traditional museum changes,which makes the collection,exhibition,publicity and education of intangible heritage become one of basic missions for the museum.The museum should make use of its own advantages to play a role in the protection of intangible heritage in the new period.This article is based on the continuous warming of intangible heritage protection and the expanding function of museums.I'm going to investigate the status quo of Xiangxi museums' protection of intangible heritage through the opinions of relevant professionals,the appeal of inheritors and the demands of the audience,relying on abundant intangible heritage and multi-types of intangible heritage exhibition halls in Xiangxi.Besides,I'll compare it with the intangible heritage exhibition in the Nanjing Museum and summarize the excellent experience and the problems,thinking about the practice of the museum from the perspective of heritage theory.Finally,I' ll put forward practical suggestions on human factors,the means of exhibition,and the participation of the audience.combined with the actual situation in Xiangxi,and also emphasize that the museum is a platform for the rational exploitation and utilization of the intangible resources in order to provide reference for the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in the museum.
