| This research focuses on the fan culture of Slam Dunk and discusses the construction of the memories among the fans.Slam Dunk attracted a large number of teenagers as soon as it was released,because its narration of the stories reflects these teenagers' path of growing.More and more fans of Slam Dunk expressed their appreciation towards this work through a variety of forms of constructing different memories.This cultural practice of the construction of the fans' memories is a representation of a cultural memory that is shared among all of the fans.This construction is deeply related with the collective memory of Slam Dunk's fans.Therefore,the discussion upon the construction of fans' memories can be seen as a breakthrough point of studying the connotation of Slam Dunk's fan culture.It is also a facilitation of understanding fans' psychology and their cultural memories,as well as a collective memory and social memory.This thesis is a combination of theories from sociology,cognitive psychology,communication science and some other fields.It takes the intermediary space as a"memorial field." It also takes the content,strategy and meaning of the construction of fans'memories as a research route.Additionally,this research focuses on the analysis of the forms on how the Slam Dunk's fans construct their memories,and it is also an attempt to refine the internal meaning of the construction of fans' memories.This thesis consists of introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction explains the background and present situation of this research.It also introduces the research route and methodologies.There are three chapters in the main body,and it unfolds with an order of the content of construction of fans' memories,how the memories are constructed and the meaning behind the construction.Chapter One concentrates on the dissemination of Slam Dunk and its fans' memories.It analyzes different forms and characteristics of the construction of fans' memories that takes the intermediary space as a "memorial field." Chapter Two clarifies that Slam Dunk's fans broaden the horizon of the meaning and construct their own cultural memories through utilizing the transactive memory as well as a display of the related products of Slam Dunk.Chapter Three refines that there are three major mealings of the consttuction of fans,memories,which are "Never give up," "Self-consciousness" as well as "Protect the childhood." Based on these three meanings,this chapter argues that the construction of fans' memories is a dynamic reaction towards the outside world,and it reflects fans'cognition of themselves,their community as well as the society.Conclusion is a reconsideration of this thesis as a whole. |
