Data access is still a major bottleneck for retrieving infomation quickly and efficiently in large volumes of data. With complex data sources,a large proportion of analysis time is spent locating and retrieving the relevant data.Similar problem holds for wireless sensor network(WSN),whose natural heterogeneity make it difficult to share and reuse sensor data.Ontology-based data access system(OBDA)offers a potential solution for the data variety challenge. It provides a high conceptual view for the data,as well as convenient query vocabulary for users. It enriches the background knowledge for the original system, and support query in heterogeneous data sources. We study the history and status of OBDA,build a realistic knowledge representation framework, then design and implement a novel Ontology-based Data Access and integrated System. It can represent complex knowledge with flexibility. Some parts of our system are different from the existed mature architecture based on practice. It combines two different data sources, namely,DBMS and WSN.For DBMS,besides database schema,it also takes into account the feature of commodity data, adding treatment of nested properties. For WSN,it considers basic structure and mashup network. Moreover,we achieve automation in certain parts, including ontology creation, mapping creation and query formalization. It also supports simple query answering by query rewriting.
