Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode(AMOLED)has accumulated for many years of technological accumulation,and currently covers flat panels,mobile phones,televisions,lamps and other fields,involving flat panel displays and lighting devices.As AMOLED has the characteristics of independent light emission,wide viewing angle,bendability and flexibility,it is regarded as the next generation of lighting and display products,and has a broader market prospect.However,AMOLED also has its own bottleneck that is hard to break through in the process of industrialization,for example,the limitation of the evaporation process leads to the problem that the resolution cannot be further improved,and causes some display problems such as saw tooth and graininess.This paper focuses on improving the resolution of AMOLED display products through pixel architecture design,to eliminate the display defects such as saw tooth and graininess.The main contents of the paper include the following aspects:Firstly,this paper introduces the principle of AMOLED display technology and the manufacturing process,summarizes the main technical performance indexes,and introduces the physiological basis of color perceived by human eyes and the color basic theory.Secondly,this paper compares the characteristics of AMOLED and LCD display,expounds the technical bottleneck of AMOLED display technology,which is difficult to further improve the resolution,and this bottleneck results in poor display effect.So the problem to be solved in this paper is how to find a resolution-raising solution through the pixel architecture design.After that,this paper analyzes the influence of pixel architecture design on display performance,introduces the four main AMOLED pixel arrangements in the display industry,analyzes their process of evolution and optimization,compares their advantages and disadvantages,and explores the influences and contributions of microscopic design factors such as pixel shape and pixel pitch on macroscopic observation effects.Then this paper refines the key factors affecting the macro display effect and refines the basic principles of pixel design.Finally,based on the extracted pixel design principles,this paper designs four new pixel architectures.These new types of architectures increase the aperture area of the evaporated mask through reasonable pixel arrangement,reduce the difficulty of mask production and evaporation processes.From the four options,the best solution is selected and produced by Array,OLED,and module processes.The new designed sample are evaluated and compared with the industry's top products through PPI,picture detail display effect and macro display effect.The results show that the new design sample has high resolution,delicate display,has no obvious saw tooth and grainy,and it is superior to the existing products in the display industry in the shape of letters and the boundary definition of color blocks.
