The traditional outdoor wireless communication system testing method has many defects.In order to shorten the system test cycle,researchers need to simulate various propagation characteristics of wireless channels in the laboratory to facilitate debugging and testing.As a device that replaces the traditional test,the wireless channel emulator has received extensive attention and research.The realization of the wireless channel simulator mainly has two aspects.One is to use the hardware architecture of the simulator to generate the baseband IQ data stream of the test signal;the other is to use the software of the upper computer to correctly generate the fading sequence value of the channel model to be simulated.This paper first designs the overall hardware architecture of the wireless channel simulator and analyzes the functions of each module.Based on this,it theoretically analyzes the generation of the baseband IQ data stream of the IF baseband unit.Then,based on the performance of the channel simulator,this paper evaluates the throughput of the baseband IQ data and the fading sequence value of the IF baseband unit,and based on this,designs the intermediate frequency baseband unit based on the PXI Express(PXIe)high-speed industrial bus platform.In order to realize the high-throughput transmission of baseband IQ data stream,this paper develops and implements it using Aurora high-speed serial communication protocol.Secondly,in order to generate the correct fading sequence value of the channel model,this paper selects a better simulation method to model and simulate the flat fading channel and the MIMO fading channel in the upper computer matlab software,and compares the simulation result with the theoretical value to verify the correctness of the generated fading sequence.Finally,based on the analysis results of the first two models,this paper describes the overall design of the simulator.
