The competitive market boosts the demands of customized products and products variants currently. In order to meet the rapid growthing market's demands, manufactures have to develop a new design mechanism for customized product design which relays on the existed desgin. This paper forwards using an online parameteric product catalog platform to improve the efficient of sharing product elements, which could make different manufacturing enterprises enhance their market competitiveness through reusing the results of the process and accelerating response time for customized request. The main line of this paper focuses on the online parameteric product catalog platform's development process.Firstly with studying on the domestic and foreign-related platform associated with the theory, including the product family&product platform theory, theory of modular design, parametric design theory application and KBE;system analysis, system architecture design and realization of three-level concrete platform on the development and implementation; In this paper, the key point of this contribution was settled on the platform technology program line with the principles of architecture and its implements technology, the development&deployment. The paper studied the integration of heterogeneous systems strategies at the ending of this research. From technical view, this paper used the message queue mechanism to implement the CAD models' asynchronous processing on the server-side,cause the CAD documents parametric process consumed too much time which could damage the system's stability and scalability. The SolidWorks automation was implemented utilizing ruby, which methodolgy could be spread to lots of other scripts as well.
