With the continuous growth of mobile communication and mobile internet,demand for wireless transmission rate and data traffic of mobile communication increase exponentially.To support the explosive growth of data traffic,massive interconnected devices and new application scenarrios,many countries have invested lots of resources into the development of the 5th generation(5G)mobile communication system to meet the requirements in 2020 and beyond.5G is now becoming the research foucus of global mobile communication.5G is a comprehensive application of several techniques and aims to provide users with perfect communication experience.The key technologies in 5G RF system include massive MIMO,millimeter-wave communication and inband full-duplex communication,etc.This thesis focus on the RF transmitter for 5G millimeter-wave massive MIMO system.Firstly,the RF scheme is determined according to the requirement of millimeter wave 5G system using the scheme design of multi-channels,and single channel transmitter is designed.Secondly,two millimeter wave transmitters operating at 40GHz band are designed.One is the front end separated from the antenna which transmits signal via the carefully designed stepped horn antenna installed on the back of the RF board,another one integrates patch antenna array on the back side of the RF board.The size of both two kinds of millimeter-wave transmitters are 20mm*20mm.Then,the intermediate frequency and LO dividing circuit board and a K band CPPLL frequency synthesizer are designed.The amplifier module,local oscillator divider and amplifier module are included in the IF and LO dividing board.Finially,the circuit modules are tested,including single channel millimeter wave circuit,IF circuit,power board and CPPLL frequency synthesizer.Test results show that the design scheme is correct and feasible.
