From the perspective of the development of communication technology and people's increasingly demand of entertainment and leisure,the mass' s upserge of mobile games is sort of inevitable since 2015.However,the mainstream discourse of society is not yet ready for the brutal growth of mobile games.The criticism of the People's daily and Xinhua News Agency to “Honor of Kings” is a typical case of the facing discourse contradiction that mobile games in the process of the expanding number of players and the influence of social culture.This article takes Honor of Kings as the research object,using the media perspective,from the aspects of player number,economic benefit and influence to society and culture,we can excavate the mass media attribute of phenomenal mobile games such as Honor of Kings,put forward the most important core viewpoint:mediated game.Many theories of semiotics and social psychology play an important role in exploring the internal factors and environmental factors of Honor of Kings' s prevalence.The same period of others mobile games like Honor of Kings in the user(player)empowerment,self accessibility and cultural group inclusiveness present the same characteristics.These factors urge mobile games to win a large number of players,further release its social properties and branding its popularity;the result and case analysis to Honor of Kings' s thinking mode,put it in the development of the whole history of the game,and further confirms and deepens the topic of “mediated game”,is the second important content of this article.Combined with the game definition of Stephenson's game theory,throughout the history of human game development,this article divides game development into three stages: primitive entertainment,cultural consumption,and mediated game.In the media perspective,this is also the process of games showing and expanding their social tool attributes and giving rise to greater social and cultural influence.Through sorting out the history of game development,especially the evolution process of video game,we can have a deeper understanding of mediated game: the social attributions that are highlighted and from production,communication and consumption are different from the past,electronic games have became a brand-new social medium in multiple meanings.As a realistic meaning topic,the other mobile games like Honor of Kings at the same period and how to look at this dispute are also another issue in this article.The view of Meyrowitz's media scene theory has provided us a very ideal thinking and perspective on the social and social problems caused by mobile games,this is another reflection of this article from the media theory to social reality.
