Network control system,having been a popular research topic for recent years,is a complex system,which combines control system with communication network.Control theory,computer science,and information theory is as its theoretical founda-tion.Mechatronic engineering,software engineering,and reliability theory is as its realization guidance.Network control system broke the boundedness of traditional point-to-point control,functioning as a distributed,flexible feedback control system with multiple nodes for communication and control.This is exactly the superiority of network control system,which has been widely used in plentiful areas such as aerospace,equipment manufacture,process control,traffic control,economic man-agement,telemedicine,and control in hazardous environment.In this paper,we focus on optimal control and stabilization problem for one kind of network control system with delay and packet dropout.The concrete re-search content and main innovation points are as follows:Firstly,we introduce two main methods for optimal linear quadratic control problem,as well as the prelimi-nary property and research direction of network control system,which serves as the preliminary knowledge and theoretical foundation;Secondly,we consider optimal output feedback control and stabilization problem of network control system under the case when the packet dropout happens both from the sensor to the controller and from the controller to the actuator,and the receiver is acknowledged of whether the transmission of the information is successful or not.Specifically,for the finite hori-zon problem,the optimal estimator is to be designed,then the dynamic programming approach will be adopted to design the optimal output feedback controller that mini-mizing the cost function,overcoming the obstacles that separation principle doesn't hold for stochastic systems with multiplicative noise.For the infinite horizon prob-lem,by defining the Lyapunov function candidate with the optimal cost function,we will show the NCS is stabilizable in the mean square sense if and only if the given algebraic Riccati equation(ARE)admits a unique positive definite solution.Some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the main results;Finally,we summa-rize the main approach,innovation point,and significance of this research,and then present our future research direction and the existing problem on this basis.
