Computers,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries are pillar industries in China.With the acceleration of China's reform and opening up policy,China officially joined the WTO in 2001.China's computer,telecommunications,and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries rely on China's labor force.The advantages of abundant resources,low production costs,and participation in the global division of labor,but now these advantages of China's computer,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries have gradually degraded,and the cost of production factors in the eastern part of China tends to rise.The transfer to the central and western regions began.Therefore,under the background of the new normal state of China,it is necessary to change the mode of economic growth and find a suitable road for the upgrading of computer,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries in China.This article uses the product space theory proposed by Hausmann et al.to combine theory with practice,and to use theoretical analysis,statistical analysis,and econometric analysis to study the relationship between the upgrade path of computer,communication,and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries in China and the existing comparative advantages.The statistical analysis method analyzes the development status of China's industry and industrial upgrading opportunities,and calculates indicators such as comparative advantage and product density of the industry in China to analyze the regional industrial competitiveness in China.This article first sorts out relevant literature at home and abroad and builds a theoretical framework for the upgrading of computer,communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries in China.Secondly,the indicators such as measurement,product density and product complexity analyze the development status of China's computer,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries and industrial upgrading opportunities from 2003 to 2015,and empirically examine the relationship between product space and industrial upgrading.The research results show that:(1)The product space and regional space have obvious heterogeneity,and the product density of computer,communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries in China varies from place toplace.The product density in the eastern and central regions is high and the density is high.Higher,indicating that there are many products around the industry can choose to jump,the direction of the industry upgrade more.In the western region,computer,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing have lower product density,lower density,and weaker product conversion capabilities.(2)The product space theory is applicable to the industrial upgrading of China's computer,telecommunications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries.The innovation caused by the accumulation of production capacity has an impetus to industrial upgrading.It has a leading role stronger than the deterrent effect.The role of industrial upgrading is greater than the production of existing products,and the accumulated production capacity promotes industrial upgrading.In short,the computer,communications,and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries follow a comparative advantage in the process of upgrading the path.(3)Regression analysis of variables such as physical capital,human capital,and R&D input,and product density,and proposed factors affecting the upgrading of computers,communications,and other electronic equipment manufacturing.Finally,according to the product space theory and empirical analysis,it proposes the industrial upgrading of China's computer,communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries.
