Design And Implementation Of A Group Positioning System Based On Android

The traditional location-based service application(LBS)is presented only for the individual location information which has failed to meet the increasing demand for social networking.When we go out to travel with some friends,it will take a long time to rendezvous with them if we are separated from others.As the smart phone has massive popularity,especially Android phones,it is very necessary to research and develop Android application with shared group location function under the support of Android phone and built-in GPS and mobile maps.To know everyone's location,a friend group should be established.All group members' real-time location will be displayed on the mobile maps in order to know their position information,which will help them to make the next decision and save more time.Based on the above analysis,it has a very good practical significance to implement the group positioning system.In this thesis,we analyze the functions of the client according to the characteristic of the Android mobile terminal applications and combining with Baidu maps API and LBS technology.We propose the design scheme of the group positioning system's architecture and the main function modules,and implement the application system with group positioning function.This thesis aims to share the mobile terminal users' real-time location information with group members under the support of Baidu map.Furthermore,this system also provides the users with instant messaging,group management,contact management and other extension functions.In this thesis,we firstly study the location-based services application(LBS)through consulting literature materials;and analyze the Android system' s architecture,components and APIs.Then,we introduce the involved key technologies in the system's design and implementation,and we also analyze the functions of the group positioning system.Secondly,we discuss the design scheme of the server's architecture and the client's architecture in detail in this thesis;and present the database design.Then we introduce the implementation process of each function module on the server and each function module on the client in detail.Finally,we conclude our work and analyze the problems of the system.We also propose the future works.
