The requirement to high-speed data,image and wide band Streaming Media is increasing these years.Optical fiber communication has been more and more used in the data transmission system of higher speed and longer transmission distance.With the rapid development of semiconductor lasers and photo-electric devices,especially high-speed signal processing techniques,that makes optical communication increasingly become the focus of attention.Coherent optical communication has high spectral efficiency and high sensitivity of the unique advantages,it's where other means of communication can not be compared.With higher-order modulation formats,transmitted signal can take advantage of the channel bandwidth and improve bandwidth utilization.Signal with high-order modulation formats and coherent optical communication can be combined to achieve coherent optical communication transmission system with high modulation formats,this has considerable research value of the high-speed data transmission.However,in the process of realization of optical communication,optical fiber transmission will have some impact on the signal,such as loss characteristics of the fiber,dispersion and nonlinear effects,etc.The optical fiber transmission characteristics will directly affect the transmission quality and distance of the ultimate optical signal.Through simulation to explore the mechanism of injury witch impact on the signal to design reasonable compensation scheme is an effective means to improve the quality of fiber optic transmission.This paper combines a coherent optical communication,communication theory and nonlinear fiber optics theory,studied the 16QAM signal in the coherent optical communication system modulation transmission technology,and focuses on the effect of fiber on a variety of transmission signals.Based on the analysis of the optical fiber transmission effect,completed a full build coherent optical communication systems,and simulation using MATLAB software.Been affected loss,dispersion and nonlinear effects on fiber transmission signals are generated from the simulation results.
