Design And Implementation Of Surveillance Video Metadata

During the 12th Five-Year Plan period," Safe City"," Strengthening Police with Science and Technology"," 3111 Project" and other major public projects have been completed.Domestic security industry has maintained a rapid growth.And as the most important part of the security industry,the industry of video surveillance also has a rapid development.The video surveillance system is becoming more and more perfect.And it has accumulated massive surveillance video data.The video surveillance system has been widely used in public security,finance,government and other departments.With the rapid construction of video surveillance system and the rapid increase of the amount of video data,the question of how to effectively use the massive surveillance video data has become a great challenge to the video surveillance industry.At present,there are many video surveillance manufacturers,and the status of manually viewing video data still exists.Through analysis of this phenomenon,there are three main problems in the usage of massive surveillance video data:First,the data collected by the video surveillance system is the original video data,the information density of video data is low,and so we need to playback and query the video data manually for a long time.Second,lack of appropriate metadata scheme of the surveillance video.It is difficult to manage,share and retrieve the video resources.Intelligent video analysis technology is the technology which uses computer vision and image technology to make the computers understand the structure and content of the video.It can continuously work for 24 hours and it is not affected by subjective influence.It is able to make up the defect of artificial mode very well.As an important tool for information organization,management and service,metadata is an important means to improve the efficiency of information management and information sharing.But at present,the domestic and foreign video metadata standards are designed for common video resources(such as video resources,news media,sports video and so on),it cannot reflect properties characteristics of surveillance video resources well.And such metadata schemes are usually designed only for file and management of video resources.It cannot meet the needs of surveillance video for its video content information.Based on the above background,this paper establishes the research object of designing and developing the metadata of surveillance video which can reflect the characteristics of video resources and take into account the video content.The main research contents and results of this paper are as follows:(1)Analysis of resource characteristics of surveillance video.In this paper,we analyze the nature characteristics of the surveillance video resources from two aspects:data characteristics and information characteristics,and analyze the physical characteristics of the surveillance camera.(2)Summarize the practical requirements of surveillance video.In this paper,we take the usage of surveillance video in the public security department as an example.We explore the actual needs of surveillance video.And organize and analyze more than 400 cases of the usage of surveillance video in criminal cases.We sort out the various types of cases.And through the enumeration and clustering analysis,we summarize the common elements and personality factors in the video analysis.In the practical usage,we summarize the information elements in the analysis of the surveillance video.And as the basis for the selection of metadata entities and elements.(3)Design and implementation of video metadata specification.In this paper,based on the characteristics and requirements of the surveillance video resources,we design the scheme of surveillance video metadata with regard to video content.We establish the corresponding metadata specification.We determine the function of metadata,the composition of metadata entity element and the attribute description of element.We carry out UML modeling of the metadata and based on the Schema XML realize the metadata specification.(4)Surveillance video metadata management and application system.Design and develop the surveillance video metadata management and application system.Providing a supporting platform for the implementation and usage of video metadata scheme.Verifying the practicability of metadata scheme by a certain degree.It provides a foundation for expanding the application mode of the metadata.
