With the development of network,users' requirements are becoming more and more complex and variable,and network services need to change more rapidly than ever.The traditional manual configuration methods can't satisfy global prompt adjustment of network resources,so the software defined network came to birth,which contract the distributed control plane to a single controller.This architecture will undoubtedly constitute the key technologies of the next generation Internet.Now SDN has widely been used in Data Center,School Network and Internal network of the company.And also some orgnazation has deployed SDN in WAN.The author's project team is one of them.But with the development needs,the older version can not meet the new requirements,so this paper based on the original controller to propose new improvements.The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly the existing SDN deployment frameworks were introduced.Mainstream open source SDN controllers were analyzed in detail.Secondly,through analyzing characters of WAN and the ONF SDN framework,we propose new demands for the new version's design.Thirdly based on these demands,the new SDN controller's modules such as southbound interface,northbound interface,topology management,traffic management,application management and multi-application collision avoidance mechanism were designed and developed.(4)Finally experiments were carried out to verify every module's function and the feasability of collision avoidance strategy.
