Wireless sensor networks have been widely used in environmental science,geological disaster,military and other fields,its scientific significance and application value is very high.In the design of Wireless Sensor Networks,the main difficulties are how to improve the energy efficiency and optimize the performance.Clustering routing protocol focus on three aspects:firstly,how to generate the cluster heads;then how to balance the energy cost of the sensor nodes;finally,how to get a simple and efficient routing protocol.The main work of this thesis concentrates on the analysis and the improvement of existing routing protocols on Wireless Sensor Networks,then it proposes the Inter-Cluster Multi-Hop Routing protocol Based on LEACH.The protocol optimizes the ways of cluster heads generation and the modes of data transmission between clusters.The average energy is proposed as a parameter to narrow the scope of cluster heads selection.On the course of cluster heads selection,we compare the residual energy of nodes with the energy that node consumes in each round.Then we choose the nodes which satisfy the condition as candidate cluster head nodes.At the same time,adapting to the change of the energy that nodes consume in each round,the average energy is determined by the energy consumption difference between the previous and present round.The protocol uses single-hop mode to transmit data in the cluster,while multi-hop between clusters.In the multi-hop mode.The candidate node is determined by the its residual energy,the distance between node with sink node.The simulation of the protocol is done on NS-2 simulation platform.Compared with the protocols mentioned above,the simulation results show that,the improved protocol can delay dead time of the first sensor nodes effectively,balance the energy cost of the sensor nodes,and can improve the working life of WSN.
