With the development of Computer-Network technology,people require higher qualities of information storage,the disk array is the key and core storage systems whether from the information storage system or from the information storage system architecture.However,faced the requirements with difficult to calculate and measure the reliability and availability data,and better for evaluating the reliability of the disk,we need to predict its life in order to making the better option on the appropriate disk or pre-treating the disk which is about to come to an end and save data.Thus,in real time to automatic detection of the hard disk and disk-related information,life expectancy,and disk management information warning make some practical significance.This paper introduces the basic concepts of types of disk arrays,and related terms used in disk arrays,and with the theory of probability,quantitatively analysis the reliability of some kinds of disk array,come to the calculating formulas of disk life.Besides,the paper also describes the related technologies of system of disk life prediction,design,implementation,and associated this with the calculating model of life in the system of disk's life prediction for disk life warning.After that,through stochastic simulation experiment,combined with the functions of the early warning system of disk life,verified the life of the model equations and the functions of early warning system of disk life.With the experimental data compared with the simulated data,the results show that the reliability value based on the standard model can be quantified to some extent and computed.And achieve the functions of disk to achieve a warning function(warning email)and life prediction.
