Mobile devices are currently widely used.A variety of mobile applications on mobile devices provide much convenience to users,not only in work but also in life.Because of the development of the network and communication technology,many co-ordination applications occur in different settings.However,to program the coordina-tion among mobile devices is challenging.A coordination method is needed to shield the programmer from handling low-level details of coordination,while supporting de-velopments of different coordination applications at the same time.To address the challenges above,we propose the Replicated Data Structures(RDS)based mobile co?ordination method.The RDS is the key construct in this method.The method employs the RDS to support coordination among mobile devices.On the one hand,it simpli-fies the coordination logic,on the other hand,the RDS can provide rich operations to support multiple kinds of coordinations among mobile devices.Take the replicat-ed disjoint set as an example,we explain how to design and implement the replicated data structure.We conduct a case study to demonstrate the use of this method.The performance measurements show the cost-effectiveness of coordinating mobile devices based on the replicated disjoint set.
