The Relationship Between Honesty-humility,Self-concept Threat,and Deception Behavior Of Vocational School Students | | Posted on:2021-04-12 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X M Du | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2427330647956679 | Subject:Mental health education | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Honesty and trustworthiness are not only the basic content of moral education but also the basic requirement of professional ethics education.Vocational school students are in a transition period of physical and mental development and are in the process of shifting from general education to vocational education.Their psychological behavior is extremely plastic.A previous study explained the reasons for the individual differences in deception behavior from the perspective of personality factors,and this study examined the relationship between the personality factors of vocational school students and deception behavior and its mechanism,which can provide educational enlightenment for moral education and promote the moral personality of vocational school students in moral education,develop and promote the development of pro-social behavior.This study examines the relationship between honesty-humility,selfconcept threats,and deception behaviors of vocational school students through two experiments.Experiment 1 examines the relationship between honesty-humility and deception behaviors of vocational school students and its mechanism.The results of the study found that honesty-humility scores are significantly negatively predicted the deception behavior of vocational students,the higher the honesty-respect score,the less deception behavior.Honesty-humility and moral self-concept play an independent role in predicting deception behavior.Experiment 2 examines the relationship between honesty-humility and deceptive behavior under selfconcept threat priming.The results found that under self-concept threat priming and non-priming conditions,honesty-humility cannot significantly predict deception behavior.Under the priming of self-concept threat,the interaction terms of honesty-humility and self-concept threat can significantly positively predict deception behavior.The research results show that honesty-humility is the personality factor that explain individual differences in deception behaviors of vocational school students.Under the background of Eastern collectivism,honesthumility high-scoring individuals do not show cross-context stability.Selfconcept threat priming weakens the advantage of self-processing,weakens the default behavior mode of honesty-humbly high-scoring individuals and increases deceptive behavior,and weakens the default behavior mode of honesty-humility low-scoring individuals and reduces deception.Research has provided innovative educational enlightenment for restraining deceptive behavior. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | deception behavior, honesty-humility, self-concept, vocational school students | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
