The 996 working system of Internet companies is suspected of violating the mandatory provisions of China's working hours legislation.Overwork in China has become the normal working condition for some employees,and the right to rest is not guaranteed.Excessive labor will have a greater impact on personal physical and mental health,workplace performance,and socio-economic development.The weakening of overtime pay compensation functions and the use of "voluntary overtime" evasion methods have caused the spread of excessive overtime to varying degrees,and the lack of flexibility in working-hour benchmark legislation has also affected the implementation of legislation to some extent.In order to further curb the 996 phenomenon,China needs to learn from the relevant experience of developed countries and regions and improve its laws and regulations.China's labor law enforcement and judicial authorities should earnestly maintain the compulsory effect of working hours benchmark legislation.Government departments should actively promote collective bargaining in related industries regarding working hours and allow the establishment of differentiated working time systems.Legislation should also speed up the improvement of special working hours systems in order to meet the needs of new industries and workers for flexible working hours.
