Classical Chinese,as the carrier of China's excellent culture,has recorded thousands of years of historical evolution in written form,bearing the transmission of national spirit and the evolution of national language.It has been an important part of the middle school language.There have been some discussions about aspects of the teaching methods and teaching strategies of classical Chinese.Remarkable results have been made.We try to discuss the language teaching of classical Chinese from the perspective of " Basic Unit ".The "Basic Unit " teaching is to take Chinese characters as the basic structural unit of the teaching method.Classical Chinese "Basic Unit " teaching takes Chinese characters as the basic unit of the classical Chinese language teaching.It uses some ways such as glyph analysis,word meaning of contact,combing the sound and meaning and tracing the source of the flow to teach language knowledge.The teaching method let students learn to extrapolate,be able to read simple writings in classical style,and construct the system of classical Chinese language knowledge.It also improve students' ability of understanding and using language.Chinese characters are ideographic characters.In classical Chinese,the pattern of characters,words and elements is basically corresponding.We start from the Chinese character "character based" teaching,which in fact is consciously carring on the glyph teaching,meaning teaching,and grammar teaching.We believe that the teaching thinking based on "Basic unit " is feasible because we can identify all kinds of character phenomena through combining acrophonetic writing through starting with Chinese characters,improve the use efficiency of single word annotation through the combination of the extended meaning with the original meaning,and integrate the teaching of Chinese characters into the text,vocabulary and cultural teaching through exploring the cultural connotation in the text,etc..This kind of exploration is a comprehensive,systematic and scientific practice of using the ideographic nature of Chinese characters to carry out classical Chinese language teaching.
