A Study On Hundred Years The Migration History Of Hui People In Xiangquan Hui Nationality Township,Dingxi

Xiangquan Hui nationality township is the only minority town in Dingxi,Gansu province.Xiangquan town was first called “ Pilu temple” and “Shapozi”.At the end of the Qing dynasty,Zuo Zongtang settled the Hui people in this place and named them in “An-Mu xiang”,which means “peace and stabilitty”.It got the name of “Xiangquan ” because of its sweet water.Also because abounds the potato,is called “the Potato Country.”As a social phenomenon,population migration will change with the change of sociery,which has a strong dynamic and research value.Therefore,It is also a hot topic that many disciplines such as Anthropology,Ethnology,Sociology and Demography have been paying attention to for a long time.Tracing the migration history of hui population in Xiangquan town is helpful to reflect the local population source more comprehensively and objectively.Taking the hui population in Xiangquan town as the research object,this thesis explores the migration mechanism of the hui population in Xiangquan town from 1862 to 2019 from the perspective of Ethnology and Sociology with the help of “push-pull theory”,so as to enrich the field data of population migration in China and provide some references for the mechanism of population migration in China.This thesis is divided into two parts structure.The first part is the introduction and the field description.The introduction mainly describes the origin,significance,research summary and research methods of the topic selection.The field description presents the cultural and geographical environment of Xiangquan town from the aspects of its physical geography,human environment and historical evolution.The second part uses the push-pull theory,combined with historical documents and the author's field research on Xiangquan town,studying on the population migration trajectory and mechanism significance in three different historical stages of Xiangquan town from the late Qing dynasty to the early republic of China,from the founding of new China to the realy 21 st century,and from 2007 to 2019.In the process of modernization of Xiangquan town,the local hui people kept moving back and forth to communicate and blend with other ethnic groups,which brought earth-shaking changes to the way of life of the local people.The migration of Hui people in Xiangquan town is a combination of the govement's organized migration and the folk spontaneity.In essence,it is both mandatory and more subjective.Its history of migration is a history of political,ecomomic and cultural development.Xiangquan Hui town is an acquaintance society constructed by boood relationship,geography and affection,which is conductive to strengthening economic and cultural exchange between villiages and between villages and between the emerge and his native land.At the same time,the same cultural background is the basis of cultural integration and the prerequisite for mutual recognition.Finally,the local hui pepple realized the historical leapfrog development of from survival migration to development migration.
