In recent years,as the integration of urban and rural areas accelerates,more and more rural labor force pours into cities,the problem of left-behind children in rural areas has become increasingly prominent,which has become a hot topic in the society.According to data released by the ministry of civil affairs,there were 6.97 million rural left-behind children in 2018,with 96 percent of them being cared for by their grandparents.This parenting style has a great impact on children's psychological development,behavior development and other social processes,forming a relatively weak survival group.According to the 2019 white paper on the mental state of left-behind children in China,left-behind children are significantly less happy than un-left-behind children,and more upset and confused than un-left-behind children.Their negative emotions lead to their lack of motivation for learning,and their education has attracted the attention of the whole society.Fenghuangyuan primary school in ruyang county is a school that mainly enrolls students from local left-behind children.They make full use of the educational function of music to carry out activities to promote left-behind children through music and achieve remarkable results.The author conducted an empirical study on the number of left-behind children,their psychological status,and the ways and methods of music teaching in the school by means of questionnaire,interview and observation,and found that the school has formed a teaching model integrating music class,extracurricular activities and social practice.This mode guides the left-behind children in the school to walk out of loneliness through rich and diverse teaching contents,collective activities,practical activities and other dynamic teaching with the unique enlightenment function of music,and achieves the educational goals of eliminating loneliness.Research shows that the loneliness of rural left-behind children caused by the lack of companionship and care from their relatives can be improved by music education in schools.Rural schools should attach importance to music education,constantly improve the quality of music teaching,let music play its unique role in education,and promote the healthy growth of left-behind children.
