Modern teaching pays more and more importance to the cultivation of students' autonomous learning ability. In Elementary School Morality and Rule of Law classes, the main role of students is also highly emphasized, and focus on improving students' autonomous learning ability. The main purpose of this article is to carry out research on the status quo of cultivating students' autonomous learning ability by taking Elementary School Morality and Rule of Law as an example. The primary indicator of classroom teaching is to cultivate students to explore independently, think independently, and self-consciously resist social bad phenomena, and promote the formation of a correct outlook on life and world,in order to promote curriculum reform, optimize the teaching structure, and enhance students' autonomous learning in the teaching of Morality and Rule of Law courses.Ability to provide a reference for future curriculum reform of Morality and Rule of Law.This article mainly draws on literature research, questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews to explore the cultivation primary school students' autonomous learning ability by taking morality and rule of law as an example.First of all, through a combing analysis of relevant research results on autonomous learning of students at home and abroad, the concepts of autonomous learning and autonomous learning ability are defined.Quantitative analysis is performed on the basis of discussing the recent development zone theories, constructivist learning theories and metacognitive theories about autonomous learning ability. Then a questionnaire survey was conducted on the current status of autonomous learning of total of 704 students in the fourth and fifth grades of an elementary school in the study of morals and the rule of law,and found that the main problems in the autonomous learning ability of current senior students in primary schools are: lack of practical experience of students in determining autonomously their learning contents, lack of counseling in the ability to use learning strategies autonomously, low level of will for self-supervised learning process, lack of multiple interactions for autonomous evaluation of learning effects, etc.Based on the problems presented by students in their autonomous learning ability, combined with questionnaire data and classroom observations, summarized that the students lack sufficient motivation for learning, the primary school students have a low level of self-will,and these subjective reasons that traditional teaching models have a negative impact on students' autonomous learning,as well as the influence of objective factors such as gender, age and family on students' autonomous learning ability. In response to these problems, and combined with actual teaching, the author puts forward improvement countermeasures. The first is to study teaching textbook and sort out lessons to excite the students' autonomous learning motivation;the second is to create situations to enhance perceptions and enrich students' experience in autonomous activities;the third is to expand classrooms, design homework and guide students to use their strategies autonomously;the fourth is to explore before class and self-test after class to cultivate students to supervise the process autonomously;the fifth is to create an atmosphere, multiple interactions, and pay more attention to the effect of students' autonomous evaluation.
