Special education is an important part of national education.From "care" to "support" and then to "run well" special education,it shows that the state attaches great importance to the development of special education.The Class is the core management and implementation unit of school education.The management activities of the school are mainly connected and implemented by the head teacher.The research on teachers' competence is one of the hot spots in the current education research,but the research on the special education teachers' competence and the head teacher's competence in the school with mental retardation are very lacking.This study focuses on the competency of the head teacher in the school,trying to think about the strategies to effectively improve the competency of the head teacher through the analysis of the current situation of the competency,so as to provide a certain reference for the selection,appointment and training of the head teacher,and make up for the lack of the research on the competency of the special education teachers and the head teacher in the integrated school.Based on the theory of competency model construction and referring to the existing research results of competency of all kinds of teachers and head teachers at all levels,this study studies the competency of the head teachers of the school with mental retardation by means of questionnaire survey,behavioral event interview,and text analysis.At last,the study determines the competency model of the head teachers of the school with mental retardation with 3 dimensions,41 competency characteristics and 9core competency characteristics.The questionnaire on the competency of the head teacher in the school of intelligence investigates the current situation of the competency of the head teacher in the school with mental retardation,and finds that there are threeproblems in the competency of the head teacher in school with mental retardation.Firstly,the overall competence level of the teachers in the school with mental retardation is not high;secondly,the competence level of other non class teachers is higher than that of the current class teachers;thirdly,with the increase of the teaching and learning stage,the competence level of the teachers in the class decreases.In view of the above three problems,the author analyzes the causes of the problems from the aspects of system construction and specific team management,training courses and self realization,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions: Taking the connotation of the head teacher's competency as the carrier,building the characteristic management system of the head teacher in the school with mental retardation;taking the humanized management,respecting the head teacher's self-determination and strengthening the humanity of the head teacher care,optimize the team building of head teachers,improve the vitality of the team;from the perspective of the development of special education,rely on special education schools to establish a special training base for head teachers,set up a personalized training program for the head teachers of the school;according to the need level theory,build a self realization platform for the head teachers of the school.
