The contemporary American education reform has lasted for more than half a century,during which many educational policies and measures have been enacted and implemented,all of which aim at improving the basic education level of the United States,as well as enhancing the population quality and overall national strength of the United States.After the 1980 s,the United States began to vigorously promote the curriculum reform based on "standards".From the Reagan administration to the bush administration,they all tried to promote the goal of education nationalization through the standardized education reform.The Obama administration followed this education philosophy and began working on new curriculum Standards early in its presidency,which led to the creation of the Common Core State Standards(CCSS).The practice of this standard has been carried out throughout the Obama administration,which is of great significance to the education reform in this period,especially the reform of basic education curriculum.Although the trump administration has been strongly opposed to the common core curriculum standards,as well as most of the policies and governance ideas promulgated by previous administrations in the field of education,the pace of standardized education reform in the United States has not stopped.This study is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the reasons for the topic selection,the definition of core concepts,the literature review and the research design.The second chapter is a review of the historical background and development of the American common core curriculum standards.By studying the educational reform movement and educational guiding ideology in different periods,the author tries to grasp the overall trend of educational reform and policy implementation in the United States.The third chapter firstly analyzes the causes of the establishment of the common core curriculum standards,including the American education system,the imbalance of education level and the crisis caused by the financial crisis,and then expounds the implementation process ofthe standards and their concepts,purposes and contents.The fourth chapter takes "mathematics standards" as an example,through the analysis and explanation of the text structure and specific content of the common core mathematics standards,explores its practical significance in the reform of mathematics education in the United States.At the same time,this study reviews the discussion on the common core curriculum standard since its implementation,and the analysis the current situation of the standard.The last chapter is to explore the problems existing in China's mathematics education and its curriculum standard system,and combine the practical significance of the common core mathematics curriculum standard in the United States to provide inspiration and reference for the establishment of China's mathematics curriculum standard.
