In order to further implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and the strategy of strengthening the country by talents,China has always placed scientific and technological innovation and education in an important position.Colleges and universities are responsible for training talents,developing science,technology and culture,and inheriting innovative knowledge.They are important bases for promoting the development of science and technology.Paper output is a key indicator reflecting the level of scientific research in universities.It is of great practical significance to study the output of University papers and related influencing factors.The data in the compilation of scientific and Technological Statistics of colleges and universities from 2008 to 2017 show that the input and output of scientific research in Colleges and universities are increasing year by year.In this paper,250 universities with over 100 million scientific and technological expenditures in 2017 are selected as the research objects.Based on the related data of scientific research output and scientific and technological expenditure input of universities published by the Science and Technology Department of the National Bureau of Statistics from 2008 to 2017,the influencing factors and regional effects of the output of University papers in China are studied.Compared with the existing literature mostly based on provincial level analysis,this paper uses the school-level panel data to conduct empirical research on the influencing factors of university paper output from the micro level.The main research contents of this paper include:(1)introducing the research background and significance,literature review at home and abroad,research contents and possible innovations;(2)analyzing the current,development trend and correlation of influencing factors such as the number of papers output and research funds of universities in China by descriptive statistical method;(3)establishing panel parameter regression model to explore the output of papers in universities.(4)Based on the non-linear influence of government funds on scientific research output,a threshold regression model is established with government funds as threshold variables to explore how the number of personnel involved in teaching and scientific research influences the scientific research output of Universities under the influence of government funds.(5)Summarize the research in this paper,put forward policy recommendations based on the conclusions,and make research prospects for the future.The main conclusions of this paper include:(1)GDP per capita,the number of people engaged in teaching and scientific research,government funds,entrusted funds of enterprises and institutions,and the total number of scientific and technological topics have a positive correlation with the output of University papers,and the panel parameter model has a fixed effect.(2)The number of people engaged in teaching and scientific research has the greatest impact on the total number of University papers,and government funds have the greatest impact on the total number of University papers abroad.The number of journal papers has the greatest impact,but the regression effect of the above factors on the number of domestic journal papers is not ideal.(3)Government funds have a threshold effect on the output of University papers.When the government funds are more than 1,027.9 billion yuan,the number of personnel engaged in teaching and scientific research has the greatest impact on the output of University papers.
