Science and technology drive productivity in the era of information technology,therefore,in order to achieve the development goals of building a powerful country with science and technology as well as improving social and economic levels,to improve the scientific literacy of Chinese citizens are required.For the sake of enhancing the scientific literacy of national citizens,much attention ought to be paid to science education.It is globally acknowledged that science education at the elementary level has a far-reaching impact on individual development such as stimulates the interest of pupils in learning science,broadens their scientific knowledge,provides more opportunities for scientific inquiry and establishes the correct values of scientific emotional attitudes.As a consequence,it is necessary to take full advantage of educational resources of family and school through combining the power of family with school so as to cultivate elementary school students' scientific literacy.Through adopting questionnaire and interview,this research analyzes from three aspects: students,teachers and parents.Taking Chengdu S Primary School and T Primary School as research bases,350 copies of the student-issued paper questionnaires were distributed,and 330 copies were recovered effectively.In addition,6 science teachers in 6 primary schools in the eleventh district of Chengdu and 5 parents of elementary school students in S primary school were selected for one-on-one interviews,aiming to understand the current scientific literacy level of primary school students and find the existing problems of homeschooling,analyze the reasons,discuss the necessity and possibility of homeschooling,and finally put forward effective scientific literacy homeschooling implementation measures.This study is divided into five chapters.The first part is an introduction,which mainly presents the research background,research significance,the definition of coreconcepts,related literature reviews at home and abroad,and research ideas and methods.The second part is the status of primary school students' scientific literacy and its cultivation status.According to the result of the questionnaire,a number of problems exist in primary school students' scientific literacy,which is closely related to the cultivation of families and schools.In order to improve the scientific literacy level of primary school students,it is necessary to solve the existing problems of scientific literacy cultivation in families and schools,change the cultivating methods so as to trigger the thinking of co-education of primary school students' scientific literacy.The third part is the necessity of co-education of primary school students' scientific literacy.From the perspective of practical level and theoretical level,this research discusses whether the cultivation of primary school students' scientific literacy requires the joint efforts of home and school.The fourth part elaborates the possibility of elementary school students ' scientific literacy home-school co-education from three internal foundations,namely the concept of home-school co-education,co-education relationship and co-education ability.In addition,through analyzing such external feasibility as theoretical experience,system guarantee,reality resources,the co-education of primary school students' scientific literacy is achievable.The fifth part presents implementation measures of the primary school students' 'scientific literacy family-school co-education,which mainly aims at the problems existing in the cultivation of scientific literacy in primary schools in China and puts forward such measures as changing the concept of scientific education,clarifying the advantages and responsibilities of home and school,building a network communication platform,improving the organization and regulations of home school co-education.
