Geospatial thinking ability is one of the essential factors of students' capability of geography.Geography learning is a complex process involving many variables. The influence of individual differences on students' geography learning process is objective.Among most of the geography teaching research in middle school in China at present, researches that study the correlation between students' individual differences and geospatial thinking ability are rarely concerned about.Students are the subjective of learning and temperament differences are the important embodiment of individual differences.Geospatial thinking is a kind of advanced cognitive activity, from the perspective of cognitive psychology, and the difference of individual temperament characteristics is closely related to the process of information processing in cognitive activity. Therefore, the influence of temperament differences on the spatial thinking ability of senior high school students are studied. It is a research subject with important theoretical and practical value. On the basis of a abundant of literature and books studying,by using the theory of individual differences and temperament theory, this paper defines and classifies the connotation of spatial ability and geospatial thinking ability.Based on the information processing theory of cognitive psychology,a questionnaire survey was conducted among150 students in senior secondary science class on the differences of individual temperament characteristics and the level of geospatial thinking ability.Through the statistics and analysis of the questionnaire data, the multiple linear regression model is established, and it is concluded that there is a certain correlation between the difference of temperament characteristics and the spatial thinking ability of senior high school students, and the relevant theoretical basis are combined to find out the influence of qualitative characteristics on geospatial thinking ability and the reasons for its influence are discussed one by one.The specific conclusions are as follows:(1)receptivity characteristics have no obvious effects on geospatial thinking ability;(2)the higher the tolerance, the stronger the logical reasoning ability of geographical phenomena;(3)the higher the response agility, the stronger the logical reasoning ability of geographical phenomena;(4)the higher the plasticity, the stronger the ability of psychological operation of geographical things and the application of geographical image analysis;(5)emotional excitability has no obvious effects on geospatial thinking ability;(6)introverted people have better logical reasoning ability than extroverts.Based on the above conclusions,we have two points to tell:Firstly,to enumerate the students' daily learning and life who's with low tolerance, low response agility, low plasticity and extroversion, which is convenient for geography teachers to distinguish;Secondly, aiming at the weakness of each kind of students' temperament characteristics, this paper puts forward some suggestions for geography teachers to train their ability of geospatial thinking according to their aptitude.
