In the process of basic education reform and development,primary school principals play a unique role.The principal of primary school in rural areas is in the conflict of roles for a long time,which not only makes the principal physically and mentally tired,but also affects the quality of basic education in rural areas.So how is the actual situation of the primary school principal's role conflict in rural areas,which influence factors cause them to have the role conflict,how to alleviate the primary school principal's role conflict in rural areas is the focus of this paper.This study uses the literature method to collect the related literature to discover,the existing literature regarding the principal role conflict research concentrates on the university principal,rarely for the rural area primary school principal role conflict research.This article is to see this vacancy,trying to use the case study method,“ outsider ” research perspective,based on role theory,purposefully selected a rural boarding school for two years of primary school principal G as the research object of interviews,and G the principal in the work and life of the case sorting out the rural primary school principals of various role conflicts,and then analyze the reasons for their role conflicts,and finally put forward suggestions to alleviate their role conflicts.Chapter one is the introduction,the main contents include research significance,literature review,research methods,research process,etc.Chapter two is the theoretical basis of the full text,including role,role theory,manager role theory,the following three chapters show the general situation of primary school principal role conflict in rural areas,and analyze the performance of G principal role conflict,related influencing factors and countermeasures.Specifically,the third chapter uses the interview method to study the main performance of G principal's role conflict,and concludes that G principal has strong role conflict in five aspects: safety problems,duties and responsibilities,internal and external differences,public and private differences,and value choice.Finally,in chapter five,the researchers put forward some strategies and suggestions to alleviate the conflict of primary school principals' roles in rural areas from the aspects of perfecting the system of selecting,evaluating and training principals,perfecting authorization system and constructing communication mechanism,respecting teachers' teaching experience,reshaping principals' role,creating support system and maintaining good interpersonal relationship.In addition,the research also found that the role conflict of primary school principals in rural areas is not only the responsibility of the principal alone,but also the educational administration department should adjust the management thinking.The administrative department of education should turn “attention” into“ concern ”,give humanistic care to rural principals,and carefully understand the real situation of rural primary school principals(such aswhat they have done,what they can not do,what they must do,what they should do),and care about the“ real situation ”of rural primary school principals(such as what they want to do,what they can do,what they want to do and what they want to do).
