Objective:This study aimed to explore the lower extremity joint loading with different speeding strategies and the functional compensation mechanisms due to the limited planer flexor strength in older women during walking,so as to provide help and guidance for older women to choose the encomy of walking. Methods:The gait parameters and ground reaction forces of 27 healthy older women who performed normal and fast speed walking trials in a motion analysis laboratory with Qualisys and Kistler.according to the speed increase of the subjects fast walking: older women whose main purpose is to increase their cadence(G1,n=10);oder women who mainly increased their stride length(G2,n=8);oder women who increased their stride length and cadence(G3,n=9).At the same time, this paper only discusses the peak value of joint moment, peak power and work of the lower extremities in the sagittal plane, the joint power is the product of the joint moment and the angular velocity, and the joint work is the integral of the joint power to the time in the gait cycle. The above parameters are presented in terms of mean and standard value.Using the SPSS17.0 of one-way ANOVA,peak value of joint moment?peak power and work were comparaed between the aforementioned groups over the three groups of older women during normal walking and fast walking, among them p<0.05 is a significant difference. In addition,a paired t-test was conducted to during normal walking and fast walking peak value of joint moment?peak power and work within three groups of older women, among them p<0.05 is a significant difference.Results:1.There was no significant difference in peak value of joint moment, peak power and work of ankle, knee and hip joint among the three groups of older women during normal walking(p>0.05).In the normal walking gait cycle, three groups of older women is mainly limited planter flexor strength moment, and ankle and hip joint played a dominant role in the positive word ability(about 40%),the energy absorption is mainly in the knee joint.(about 56%).2.Three groups older women in the process of fast walking, hip peak value of joint moment, peak power and work performance of older women in group G1 were significantly higher than those in group G2 and group G3(p<0.05).At the same time, the ankle peak value of joint moment, peak power and work were significantly lower than those in group G2 and group G3(p<0.05),Especially the older women who mainly increase the stride length(G2).In terms of work, the hip joint played a dominant role in the positive word ability in the older women in the G1 group(51.81%).However,the majority of older women in G2 group were ankle and hip joints(39.15% and 42.52%,respectively).The energy absorption of knee joint is the main way to do negative work, accounting for about 65%.3.Compared with normal walking, three groups of older women,With the acceleration of walking velocity, the lower extremity joint loading of increased in varying degrees.Among them, the hip peak value of joint moment, peak power and work of older women in G1 group increased significantly(p<0.05).However,the ankle and knee peak value of joint moment, peak power and work of older women in G2 and G3 groups increased significantly, especially in ankle joint(p<0.05).In terms of work, there was no significant change in the ankle work ability of the older women in the G1 group. In addition, with the increase of walking velocity, the negative work capacity of knee and hip joint increased, while that of ankle joint decreased. At the same time, the energy absorption of the lower limb knee joint changed from the middle swing phase to the initial swing phase and terminal swing.Conclusions:1.The difference of joint loading among the older women with the increase of walking cadence was small; The older women who increased the stride length or increased the stride length and cadence at the same time had significant differences in the lower extremity joint loading, and to some extent, there was a significant difference in the lower extremity joint loading.2.Gait strategy can change the lower extremity joint loading, but there is no significant difference in the lower extremity joint loading of older women when walking with similar velocity and stride length.3.Three groups of older women during normal speed walking, ankle and hip joint played a dominant role in the positive word ability, and the energy absorption was in the knee joint mainly.4.The older women who increased their stride length or both stride length and cadence depended on higher function demands in the ankle and knee joint during fast speed walking, while the older women who increased cadence was more depended on the hip joint.which is due to the increase of walking speed, due to its limited plantar flexor strength and appeared the trend of functional compensation to the distal segment.
