Since the expansion of enrollment in colleges and universities,the scale of graduate students has greatly increased,which has expanded the team of scientific research talents.But the ensuing problem is that it is difficult to ensure the improvement of the quality of graduate education.This has always been an issue that needs continuous exploration in the practice of graduate education.In the scientific research work of colleges and universities in China,the mentor is usually the main leader,and his guidance to the individual graduate students will affect their scientific research behavior and results.The supportive mentor leadership or shang-yan mentor leadership,as an common and effective way of mentor guidance,can train many outstanding scientific and innovative talents for China's modernization development.Among them,supportive mentor leadership emphasizes the concern for individual needs of graduate students and improves their internal motivation level to promote their innovative behaviors.However,in theoretical research and practical work,However,in theoretical research and practical work,it has not yet been clarified the difference between the effect of supportive and strict mentor leadership on the graduate student research creativity,and how to effectively promote individual scientific research innovation behaviors of graduate students.Therefore,this article examines the relationship and mechanism of supportive mentor leadership,shang-yan mentor leadership and graduate student research creativity.After collating relevant literature on the main research variables of supportive mentor leadership,shang-yan mentor leadership,research work engagement,research self-efficacy,and graduate student research creativity.A five-variable model in which graduate student research creativity is the dependent variable,supporting mentor leadership and shang-yan mentor leadership are independent variables,and graduate work research work engagement and research self-efficacy are intermediary variables.Subsequently,this study adopted the method of questionnaire survey,referenced the authoritative scales at home and abroad,and adapted,designed and distributed questionnaires based on the Chinese situation.A total of 260 valid graduate student data from Hunan province and a small number were collected from other provinces.Empirical analysis of the data using SPSS24.0 and Mplus7.0,and find that supportive mentor leadership and shang-yan mentor leadership both have a positive impact ongraduate student research creativity,and The influence of shang-yan mentor leadership is slightly higher than that of supportive mentor leadership,but this impact is fully mediated by research work engagement and research self-efficacy of individual graduate students.Among supporting mentor leadership and graduate student research creativity,the mediation effect of research work engagement of individual graduate students is greater than research self-efficacy.However,for shang-yan mentor leadership and graduate student research creativity,the difference between research work engagement and research self-efficacy is not significant.Based on this result,this article puts forward corresponding enlightenments and suggestions: Firstly,whether it is supportive mentor leadership or shang-yan mentor leadership,we must pay attention to guide graduate students to strengthen research work engagement,enhance research self-efficacy,and encourage innovative behavior of graduate students.Secondly,whether graduate students face supportive mentor leadership or shang-yan mentor leadership,they should strengthen individual research work engagement and research self-efficacy and dare to challenge scientific research tasks in order to continuously improve their creativity.Thirdly,graduate student training units should not interfere too much with the leadership of mentors,and they should provide sufficient scientific research resources for the guidance of mentors and scientific research of graduate students,so as to promote the cultivation of graduate student research creativity.Finally,this article summarizes the research deficiencies and prospects to provide reference for future related research.
