Teaching materials are an important support for teachers to carry out their teaching activities.The management of teaching materials for university courses is an important part of the regular work of universities.Since the Party's 18 th Congress,the Central Government has paid unprecedented attention to the management of teaching materials in schools at all levels,issuing a series of documents and making relevant requests on the management of teaching materials in universities.In 2017,the State established the Teaching Materials Committee to guide and coordinate the work of teaching materials nationwide.In the same year,the Ministry of Education established the Teaching Materials Bureau to conduct a comprehensive review of teaching materials;this is the first time in the 70 years since the founding of the country that a high standard teaching materials management organization has been established.As a result,the issue of teaching material management in undergraduate courses in universities has attracted the attention of many scholars.Against this background,it is important to investigate and analyze the current situation and problems of teaching material management in universities and to propose corresponding improvement policies,which will be of great significance to optimize the teaching material management system of universities and promote the improvement of teaching quality.Based on the theoretical research,two questionnaires were compiled to investigate the current situation of teaching materials management in the undergraduate curriculum of University of Z from the most intuitive feelings and insights of teachers and students in using teaching materials.At the same time,we conducted in-depth interviews with some full-time teachers and teaching material managers at the school and college levels to obtain first-hand information on the management of teaching materials,in an attempt to gain a comprehensive and multifaceted view of the current situation of teaching material management at University Z from the levels of teaching material development,selection,use and evaluation of teaching materials.It is found that there are obvious characteristics in teaching material management of Z university,such as the teachers have a higher voice in the selection of teaching materials,the procedures for the selection of teaching materials are standardized,the selected materials are highly adaptable to the learning base of the students and meet the teaching needs,and the teachers use the materials in a flexible way without considering the materials as the only basis for teaching.At the same time,there are also many problems and shortcomings that need further improvement,the main manifestations of which are the uneven quality of the selected teaching materials,the difficulties in developing new forms of teaching materials,the inconsistency in the basis of admission of students to the "new college entrance examination" highlighting the difficulties in selecting teaching materials,the need to improve the evaluation standards of teaching materials,the shortcomings in the teaching materials management system,etc.In view of the above problems,this paper holds that universities should pay more attention to the management,strictly control the quality of teaching materials,increase the construction of new forms of teaching materials,fill in the basic shortcomings brought to students by the reform of the new college entrance examination through teaching materials,and strengthen the preparation and selection.In addition,it is also necessary to improve the incentive mechanism for the evaluation,enhance the scientific informationization of teaching materials management to improve the quality of teaching materials management and protect the training of high-quality talents.
