With the transformation of China's education reform from elite education to mass education,higher vocational education has made great progress and rapid development.China has built the largest higher education system in the world.Higher education is expanding year by year,the scale of Higher Vocational Colleges and the number of students in school are also increasing,but the social recognition of higher vocational college students is far less than that of ordinary colleges and universities.How to improve the quality of talents in higher vocational colleges has become a topic of discussion.There are great differences between Higher Vocational Colleges and ordinary colleges in personnel training mode and student source quality.In recent years,higher vocational colleges have gradually improved their teaching quality by increasing the monitoring and management of teaching quality,but there are still some problems in practice,such as the lack of pertinence of the teaching quality monitoring system,and their own teaching quality has not been effectively improved.At present,higher vocational colleges in China are actively exploring the internal monitoring system of teaching quality in line with their own development orientation.Based on the quality concept of higher education and the theory of total quality management,this study takes a higher vocational college in Chongqing as an example to discuss two problems: what is the current situation of the internal monitoring system of teaching quality in Chongqing AVocational College? What are the problems in the operation of the internal monitoring system of teaching quality? Through the collection of texts and documents,interviews with some managers,teachers and students in Chongqing AVocational College,and questionnaire survey on teachers in Chongqing AVocational College,this study investigates the current situation of the teaching quality monitoring system in Chongqing AVocational College,and analyzes the existing problems and influencing factors in the internal monitoring of teaching quality.This study found that: Chongqing AVocational College has a relatively perfect teaching quality monitoring system,teaching quality monitoring objectives clear,teaching quality monitoring organization clear,teaching quality monitoring system is relatively sound.However,the whole teaching quality monitoring is lack of professional characteristics.All disciplines adopt the same evaluation standard,the monitoring subject is single,the form of teaching quality evaluation monitoring system is greater than the effect,the information feedback function of monitoring system is not strong,and the teaching quality monitoring does not pay attention to quantitative processing.Teachers and students do not pay attention to the monitoring of teaching quality and lack initiative.The main reasons of this study are: lack of understanding of teachers,lack of incentive mechanism in teaching quality monitoring system,no subject difference in teaching quality monitoring indicators,and no long-term mechanism of teaching quality monitoring.The internal monitoring of teaching quality is carried out from top to bottom,the front-line teachers are lack of initiative,and the monitoring effect is not ideal.Based on the above findings and analysis,this study suggests that: the management can consider making teaching quality monitoring indicators in combination with the characteristics of specialty and curriculum,refining monitoring indicators by curriculum category,attaching importance to stimulating the enthusiasm of front-line teachers,emphasizing the regular evaluation of teaching quality,strengthening the information operation mechanism,and building the bottom-up internal monitoring system of teaching quality.Taking Chongqing AVocational College as an example,this study discusses the improvement of teaching quality monitoring system in China's Higher Vocational Colleges in terms of subject characteristics and monitoring subject and object.Because of the differences between majors and disciplines,the design of monitoring system should also be adjusted according to its characteristics to make it more in line with the school's positioning and professional needs,so as to ensure and improve the teaching quality of higher vocational colleges.The findings of this study are conducive to improving the teaching quality monitoring system of a vocational college and enriching the existing research on the quality assurance of higher vocational education.
