Under the background that the basic education curriculum reform and quality education work are being promoted continuously,the Music Curriculum Standard of General High School(Experiment)(hereinafter referred to as "curriculum standard")was promulgated by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in 2003.National and local educational institutions have compiled high school music textbooks according to the requirements of the curriculum standard,which have been published and widely used in general high school.As an important material for teachers to carry out teaching and the main tool for teachers and students to carry out teaching activities,teaching materials can clarify teachers' teaching and guide students' learning,and play a key role in improving teaching quality.In this paper,based on the problems found by the author in teaching practice,the research significance,research background and research status of music teaching material research are discussed by using scientific research methods of education such as literature research,analysis research,comparative research,induction and so on.In addition,guided by the Music Curriculum Standard of General High School(Experiment)(2003 Edition),two versions of high school music teaching materials,namely,Music Appreciation published by People's Music Publishing House and Music Appreciation published by Hunan Literature and Art Publishing House,are selected as the main research objects,the concepts of the Music Curriculum Standard of General High School(Experiment)(2003 Edition)and the music textbook and their relationship are discussed,the overall characteristics and framework structure,unit theme,unit content,music knowledge,music activities and the presentation mode of the content of the two editions of the music textbook are analyzed and compared respectively,the characteristics,advantages and disadvantages of each edition of music teaching materials are objectively grasped,and the points that need to be improved about music teaching materials are summarized,the relevant reference suggestions for revising high school music teaching materials and teachers' use of teaching materials are put forward from the perspective of author's teaching practice.
