Lu Xun is one of the cultural giants in the 20thcentury known to the world.His works have long been valuable for exposing and criticizing dark sides of the society,reforming and reconstructing Chinese national character and exploring our nation's fate and future.As selected classics in middle school textbooks in our country,Lu Xun's works connote educational resources of infinite value.With more and more emphasis on aesthetic education of Chinese teaching,it becomes significant to discuss the meaning and value of Lu Xun's works in middle school textbooks from the perspective of aesthetic education.This paper centers on teaching of characters in Lu Xun's works from the perspective of aesthetic education.Firstly,this paper divides characters in Lu Xun's works into beauty and ugly ones in an attempt to introduce the aesthetic education in detail.According to the character division standard and character types in literary works,main characters in Lu Xun's works in middle school textbooks were classified and analyzed in sequence in terms of aesthetic value combined with the text content.Secondly,this paper shows structured interviews with Chinese teachers in first-rate middle schools and class practices to demonstrate the current situation of aesthetic education of characters in middle school Lu Xun's works.Along with the development of the society,strong progress has been made in aesthetic education of Lu Xun's works in middle school teaching.There are still problems that cannot be ignored.Teachers are not well-prepared for lesson planning.Inactive classroom atmosphere in teaching practices and inadequate after-class aesthetic education activities lead to low efficiency of aesthetic teaching.The reasons mentioned above will be analyzed in this paper for further teaching strategies.Lastly,in terms of problems in aesthetic education planning,teaching practice and after-class improvement,this paper provides aesthetic education strategies of characters in Lu Xun's works included in middle school textbooks on the basis of eminent teachers'practices.The aesthetic education strategies can be divided into three aspects:concept changing,processoptimizingandinnovativeactivities.Concept-changing means that teachers should not only improve their abilities in aesthetic understanding,teaching planning,classroom management and the mental distance control in aesthetic activities,but also establish the aesthetic concepts of equal exchanges and multilevel understanding,break limitations,and broaden aesthetic education horizons.Process optimizing means that the classroom teaching should include lesson preparation in detail,individualized teaching,the wise use of technologies,and the application of academic achievements.Innovative activities,focusing on after-class improvement,mainly refer to innovative after-class homework designing and careful development of outreach activities in order to make effective suggestions for aesthetic education of characters in Lu Xun's works in middle school textbooks.
