Nowadays,China is taking Connotative Development as the total demand of college education,and the core purpose of it is to improve the quality of college education.Teacher-student interaction in college class is an important way to deliver knowledge,inspire wisdom,research the unknown,and continue personal innovation,as well as a typical characteristic of college class.While at present silence problem has become the main barrier for teacher-student interaction in the college class.Thus,to avoid college students' silence in class will have significant impact on improving college education quality.This research is going to take undergraduates as the research samples,interactive teaching theory and dialogue theory as the basic theories.This theory is also going to utilize the methods of literature,questionnaire and one-on-one interview to explore the college students' silence in class and its factors,and then raise useful advice to break the college students' silence in class.This research is carried out mainly by questionnaire and one-on-one interview.The research will design the questionnaire by three dimensions to study the college students' silence tendency,and explore its factors by nine dimensions with 642 students were investigated,10 teachers interviewed,and 30 students interviewed.The research will use SPSS22.0 statistics software,and take certain effective analysis methods such as explorarion,description,correlation,variance,regression.Through the research,people make a new discovery about the college students' silence phenomena in class.First,college students' silence in class appears in three behavior tendencies,which are avoidance of competition,self-centric,habitual behavior.Avoidance of Competition Silence means the reaction when students are afraid of asking questions or discussing in public;Habitual silence means the usual reaction when students tend to not ask questions or discuss in public for a long time.Second,the reason for college students' silence in class are diverse and complicated.In terms of students,the reasons lie in low study motivation,introverted personality,shortage of ability,and study indifference In terms of teachers,the reasons lie in personal teaching ability and charm.In terms of the class environment,the reasons lie in the dull class atmosphere and excessive number of students.Based on the research above,three suggestions are raised to avoid the college students silence phenomena in class: First,students must build up an appropriate studymotivation,enhance personal confidence,improve personal comprehensive reaction ability,and overcome unnecessary anxiety.Second,teachers in college should assess students' performance with multi-systems,and constantly improve teaching skills,innovate teaching methods,enrich personal knowledge,build up harmonious relationship with students.Last but not least,college needs to constantly refine correlative educational regulations,and,to the largest extent,activate the class atmosphere.In the meanwhile,students in the class should be limited in appropriate number.
