Mathematics competition is between primary mathematics and higher mathematics,and different from the existence of primary mathematics and higher mathematics,which has great educational research value.As an important part of competition mathematics,number sequence is closely related to elementary mathematics and higher mathematics.Studying it will greatly enrich the content of competition mathematics,promote the development of competition mathematics,and help students to learn elementary mathematics and higher mathematics.For students,they can understand the nature and characteristics of the sequence of numbers more comprehensively and improve their ability of solving problems;for teachers,they can enrich their teaching content and use the research results to guide students to participate in the mathematical competition;for the propositioners,they can also be helped with the task.Using the methods of literature analysis and action research,this paper collects the International Mathematical Olympiad(IMO),Chinese Mathematical Olympiad(COM),National High School Mathematics League,Chinese Girls' Mathematical Olympiad(CGMO),China Southeast Mathematical Olympiad(CSMO),Chinese Western Mathematical Olympiad(CWMO),North Mathematics Olympic Invitational(NMO).The sequence problems of the Olympic Invitational games are classified and summarized.This paper systematically studies the characteristics of the problem types of the number series in the mathematics competition.According to each type of the number series problems,it analyzes and studies from the five dimensions of problem-solving method,difficulty analysis,frequency of occurrence,investigation method and typical examples,and then draws a conclusion.Finally,the author tries to find that the number sequence problem in competition mathematics can bring the enlightenment to the number sequence problem in college entrance examination and the future mathematics education reform.This paper analyzes the advantages and limitations of this study,and gives a summary and suggestions,hoping that this study can be applied in practice.
