Study On Career Management Of University Counselors Based On Competency Model

Counselors are the backbone of carrying ideological and political education for universities in our country.With the convening of national college ideological and political working conference,the pace of professionalization of counselors is accelerating.We are finding the effective ways to strengthen career management of counselors.However,the competency theory of human resource management is introduced into the career management of counselors,which provides universities new ideas and perspectives for the effective management and the professional development of counselors.The competency theory has been introduced into the career management of counselors in this paper and taking M university as an example to analyze and demonstrate.This paper mainly adopts literature analysis method,behavioral event interview method,questionnaire survey method,Delphi method and data analysis method.Through literature analysis method and BEI,this paper summarizes and integrates the competency of M university counselors and using SPSS statistical method to calculate and analyze the results,then the competency model of M university counselor's career management has been obtained preliminarily.After that,the model has been modified and tested by Delphi method and exploratory factor analysis has been carried out and got different influencing factors of three different stages.Finally,the model has been built.Then based on the model,some management strategies have been put forward in M university.M university has been taken as an example in this paper and the competency theory has been introduced into it.Based on the model,apply principles and management strategies have been put forward.Hoping that this paper can have a certain significance to promote the career management of counselors for the other universities in our country and then promoting the professionalization of counselors in our country.
