As an important part of Ideological and Political subject in senior high school,Current Affairs Education has also been a good combination when accomplish the task of political education.Strengthening Current Affairs education can keep the Ideological Political subject in senior high school up-to-date,engage students' interest in the subject and help them use the basic principles of Marxism to analyze the current domestic and international political and economic events,improve students' problem-solving and analyzing abilities,and fulfill the educational function of this subject.Through questionnaire survey and interviews,it is found that the Current Affairs education in rural senior high schools has many problems,including no guarantee on teaching time,difficult access to teaching resources,teachers' weak awareness of subject importance and single way of teaching,and disappointing feedback from students even some false readings towards this subject.After analysis,it is believed that the main causes behind the above problems are the influence of the concept of examination-oriented education,the imperfection of teaching evaluation mechanism,the restriction of school teaching environment and the influence of teachers' own quality.This paper puts forward the solutions to the problems existing in Current Affairs education in Ideological and Political Course in rural senior high schools.For the local education authorities,they should perfect the teaching evaluation mechanism,and schools should implement the related national policy.Teachers and parents should work together to create an atmosphere of political education which can help optimize the external env ironment of current affairs education.Teachers should adhere to the concept of people-oriented education,improve their knowledge structure and information ability,and promote their comprehensive quality on teaching.They can introduce classroom teaching by discussing current affairs,design teaching situation,organize team work cooperation combined with current affairs,prepare exercises using current affairs information and organize topic lessons regarding certain current affairs,promoting the integration of current affairs education with senior high school Ideological and Political subject.
