The application of current affairs in biology teaching not only conforms to the curriculum standards of biology in compulsory primary education(abbreviated as curriculum standards in the following),but also to the requirements of new round of curriculum reform and the strengthening of quality education.The new curriculum standards emphasize the importance of science,technology and the education of social interaction from multiple perspectives,pointing out in the teaching proposals that teachers should take situational teaching into implementation from the social concerns over current affairs related to biology.Besides,teachers should help students to realize the intimate interrelationship between biological science and social development by means of case studies,especially those related to the field of education in China.Previous researches although systematically,have focused much on the current affairs from the three perspectives,namely collection,management and application.However,lack of speciality,the previous studies can not get so well with the teaching task in high school.In addition,there are still a few more empirical researches needed on the applications of current affairs to biology teaching in junior high school.The paper is intended to provide a theoretical and practical significance for the first-line teachers to apply current affairs to the process of biology teaching in junior high school,so as to improve students' bio-scientific literacy.Based on constructivism,zone of proximal development,meaningful learning theory,this paper aims to put forwards the selectional principles of current affairs: scientificity,relevance and validity,according to case studies in high school by means of observation,interview and experiment.And the data and cases are mainly selected from such platform as People's Daily,Xinhua News Agency,Network News Broadcast,Top Search Queries and Science Net,etc.Concerning Top Search Queries,the paper gives rise to a website of Top Pub Today,which provides recommendation services similar to search engines,and the integration of current affairs in different social interaction platforms such as We-chat,Baidu,micro-blog,etc.In addition,since they are often get the whole society's concern and conform to the requirements of definitions.Besides,there are also a few previous studies on such a topic,the analysis of festivals as well as awards in the field of biology should also be taken in to considerationIn the process of storage management,the paper mainly introduces the method of how to constructing a personal database,except for serve We-chat,Micro-blog as a database directly.After data coding with accordance to the haedlines of each chapter in the textbook,current affairs could be stored local or cloud.Then,specific retrieve could be achieved successfully with the help of built-in search system or Everything software if needed.In the aspect of application,the paper mainly introduces four teaching designs for reference and a concise experiment,laying a solid foundation for the empirical researches to demonstrate the validity of current affairs in biology teaching.The paper enriches the previous studies,providing assistance for first-line teachers to apply current affairs to biology teaching in junior high school.What's more,the paper can implement the conception of new curriculum reform,improving the efficiency of teaching and learning in class.Besides,it could also promote the professionalization and personalized development of teachers,which provides the theoretical and practical significance for the development of the application of current affairs to biology teaching.
