As an examination system for selecting talents,the imperial examination system has existed in China's history for more than 1,200 years.Its emergence,development and abolition have had a profound impact on China's history,culture and education.The imperial examination culture was not only the mainstream culture of traditional society,but also widely influenced the popular culture of the time.The imperial examination has a certain degree of competition mechanism,so that many people with lofty ideals can realize the ideal of life in loyalty to the monarch.The environment created the literati mentality,which in turn stimulated the emergence of literary style.The birth of classic works often originated from it.In the junior high school Chinese textbooks edited by the Ministry of Education,many classics have returned,and we need to re-examine them with historical and modern perspectives.The most obvious change in this set of textbooks is the increase in related topics in traditional culture.Most of the authors of the selected works have taken the imperial examination,or have various connections with the imperial examination.Understanding of their relationship with the imperial examination is an integral part of Chinese teaching.Since the Ming and Qing dynasties,the eight-legged essay has become the decree for the examination of the imperial examinations.Due to the strong criticism of this style by later generations,it is difficult for the eight-legged essay to enter the narrative of literary history.Most language teachers also pay little attention to the imperial examination system,and basically hold a negative attitude.This makes it difficult for teachers to recognize the imperial examination system with an objective attitude in teaching,and it also ignores the positive impact of the imperial examination on literature.The recognition of imperial examinations affects teachers' perception of imperial examination texts,which is a major problem encountered by teachers and students when studying texts together.In order to solve this problem,the teaching concept of group reading should be introduced into the teaching of imperial examination culture.First of all,teachers should have an understanding of the imperial examination system and the culture of the imperial examination system,fully understand the impact of imperial examinations on ancienwriters,and understand the basic situation of the imperial examination culture in the middle schooltextbook selection.Secondly,in terms of teaching strategies,teachers should thoroughly study the theory and methods of group text reading,co-construct and deeply analyze the texts of textbooks that involve the culture of imperial examinations,and guide students to appreciate and analyze in depth.Finally,in terms of students,we must break through the limitations of textbooks,broaden the composition of texts,improve reading ability in multi-text comparison,and cultivate awareness of ugly scrutiny in the examination of imperial examination culture.
