Exploring The Paths For The Integration Of Medical Social Workers In The Medical Service System

With the change in medical models,medicine not only emphasizes the curing of diseases,but also cares about the psychological and social factors of patients' diseases.Also out of the needs of the medical security system,medical social work can enter the medical service system through purchase of services by hospitals or autonomous recruitment by hospitals to help medical staff carry out medical activities and improve the quality of medical services.Medical social workers focus on psychological treatment and social treatment of patients,relieve social problems of patients through the means of social work,strengthen the social functions of patients,and ensure that patients can return to the society.Taking X Hospital as the case,this thesis adopts qualitative research methods and obtains firsthand materials through participatory observation and semi-structured interview.First of all,through the development process and organizational structure of early medical social work practices at X Hospital,the thesis provides experience to the medical social work development at X Hospital at the current stage.Secondly,conducting a case study into the Department of Geriatric Medicine,this thesis explores the reasons for the difficulty for medical social workers to integrate into the medical service system from four aspects of society,hospital,department and medical social work.Finally,the thesis improves the path exploration into the intervention of medical social workers in the medical service system so that medical social work can be developed in a detailed and professional manner.
