With the deepening reform of school-based physical education curriculum,the role of physical education in improving students' health,advancing students' learning,and training students' character has been further studied.Zero-hour sports closely combine students' knowledge,methods and skills acquired in learning sports with their application in daily life,in which students are organized to properly carry out excercises with"compulsory and optional themes",so as to enhance their fitness and help them develop healthy exercise habits and learning behaviors,to give full play to the function of physical education,and to promote the all-round development of students.Zero-hour sports have played an important role in pyshical education at schools.Based on the methodology of questionnaire survey,literature research and data statistics test,this paper puts forward feasible operational schemes and improvement measures for the implementation of "zero-hour sports”at primary and secondary schools in Nantong.It expounds the basic characteristics of "zero-hour sports",clarifies the principles for such activities,and elaborates on their basic framework.It pinpoints that "zero-hour sports" comprises stamina training,optional activities,stretching,and summary&feedback.It also offers methods and means for the evaluation of scholastic "zero-hour sports" implementation.The study concludes that:(1)The development of "zero-hour sports",with theoretical basis and practical effect,is a practical exploration of Chinese physical education reform on the basis of international experience.It is a rational utilization and deepened practice of "sunshine sports activities"and morning exercises.It can effectively enhance students" fitness,improve their learning behavior,cultivate their sports spirit,and facilitate their better growth.(2)The construction of zero-hour sports activities is supposed to adhere to the principles of associating students' sports autonomy with flexibility in space and time,associating safety with effectiveness,and associating flexibility with seasonal features.They should take "compulsory content plus optional thematic content" as primary forms,supplemented with stretching,summary,and feedback,and instruct students to carry out sports activities healthily.(3)All elementary and secondary schools should emphasize the combination of process evaluation and summative assessment in evaluating zero-hour sports activities.Emphasis,in the process evaluation,should be placed on the explicit presentation of"sports achievements" by comparing students' level of fitness with indexes of their learning ability "before,during,and after" students' activities.
