A Study Of Large Birth Interval Under The Background Of "Two Child" Policy

The implementation of two-child policy means the end of thirty years' one-child policy and the opening of the two-child policy era.The relaxation of birth policy will undoubtedly release the reproductive potential of some childbearing age groups.The relaxation of two-child policy makes those 60s,70s and 80s who have not yet withdrawn from childbearing age obtain the legal right of reproduction.If these women have their second child,the age spacing between the two children may reach ten years or even greater.This large birth interval will be a unique fertility phenomenon which never occurred in the history of human fertility.The sudden release of the two-child policy is an accident for all the one-child families in China.they are faced with a re-planning,adaptation and adjustment of family size,structure,relationship.The advent of the second child after a lapse of ten years will have a lot of impact on the family structure,relationships,feelings and social development.Because of the lack of academic attention and in-depth study of this large birth interval phenomenon under the two children background,this paper uses the theory of family fertility decision-making,the development of psychological theory and social role theory and a case study of 13 large birth interval families in Jurong and Nanjing City,Jiangsu Province from January to February in 2017.The paper found that the decision of large birth interval is mainly affected by five aspects, such as enhanced inter-sibling support network,the surrounding environment,economic conditions permission,child gender preferences,someone to help take care of babies.Large birth interval will bring a series of changes to family size,structure,and life cycle and make family relations(including husband and wife relationships,parents-children relationships,sibling relations and grandparents-children relations)complicated.Besides,it also has impact on Chinese future population development in population size,population structure,population quality and distribution.In terms of social development,the large interval of births has had a lot of effects on women's reproductive health,maternal and child caring services,birth sex ratio and female employment.Finally,this paper also offers large birth interval families and those will be large birth interval families following recommendations:(1)When the family has just new-born members and future family education,parents shouldn't ignore the first child's psychological feelings,Especially in the case of the first child is a girl,they should pay close attention to first children's possible abnormal behaviors and give them more comfort and care.(2)In different groups of families,parents should make appropriate educational guidance for their children.In the family with the same sex compatriots,they should try to reduce the friction and conflict between children;in the combination of older brother and little sister,encourage brother to cultivate love and responsibility;In the combination of older sister and younger brother,guide sisters to learn to understand tolerance,reduce competition between compatriots as much as possible.(3)In order to avoid couple's emotional divergences caused by caring the child,both husband and wife should have a reasonable division of labor in children caring and education and pay attention to daily communication.
