As a matter of fact,the text data which is the most common medium of information hold an important position in the interfaces of the multimedia learning materials,and it is one of the main channels for the learners to get the most learning information simultaneously.Effectively designing and organizing texts can make the content and the form of multimedia interfaces reach the high-test unity to achieve the good effect of communicating right message and to satisfy the aesthetic needs of the learners.Learners themselves have different characteristics when they are learning the multimedia materials.The performance of the text medium is not only related to its design principle,and many other factors are closely related,especially the learner's individual characteristics.Therefore,the study took into the factor of Learners'Characteristic Analysis(LCA)and selected "text" that the most common expression of information as the main line and explored the effect of the subjects' three characteristics in the text design of the multimedia interfaces.In this study,LCA were the perspective,some relevant psychology theory were the theoretical underpinnings,"Linguistics for Multimedia Design(LMD)" was the study framework,the experimental method was the main study method,and college students were the study objects.The study aimed to enrich the LMD framework and provide useful reference ideas and methods for the following researches.At the same time,the study got the effects of the artistic texts in the multimedia interfaces through experimental study,and preliminarily discussed the adaptability of learners' different types to the effect of artistic texts,and provided a reference for the text design and teaching application of multimedia learningThis study includes three experiments:proceeding from three perspectives of the learner's prior knowledge(the high or low level of learner' s initial ability for the learning content).scientific background(Arts or Science)and cognitive style(space cognitive ability:Field Dependence or Field Independence).designed the texts in the experimental multimedia materials base on the design principles of text in the LMD.researched the relationship between the effect of artistic texts and LCA.The study combined eye movement experiments with cognitive behavior experiments and got some effective experimental data about LMD from the learners'processes of perception and cognition.The data proved that the artistic text can effectively guide the learners' learning path,increase the learners ' interest.Furthermore,it can create a better learning atmosphere,change both the degree and the speed of learners' cognitive processing;so as it can improve the learners' learning quantity and quality.At the same time,design effects of the artistic text would be influenced by the learners' three individual characteristics,the effects are stronger for low-knowledge learners than for high-knowledge learners,for art students rather than for science students,and for field-dependent learners rather than for field-independent learners.
