School-based curriculum development is an important content in the new round of basic education curriculum reform in China,and it is an important concept of the new curriculum reform to the connection between teaching and real life.The biology curriculum standard for compulsory education(2011 edition)emphasizes more attention to students’ existing life experience.This article is guided by theories related to school-based curriculum development and life-based teaching.This study integrates biology life-based teaching and school-based curriculum development.I adopt research methods such as literature review,investigation and experiment to investigate students in Grade eight of No.3 middle school.First of all,on the basis of consulting a large number of relevant references and under the premise of internal and external environmental analysis,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 180 students in Grade eight of this school in order to understand students’ learning situation and the demand of biology.According to "the biology curriculum standards(2011 edition)",I selected and organized the content and target of this course.Next,I select class 82 and 83 of Grade eight as experimental classes to implement school-based curriculum.Finally,according to the result of the implementation,I do evaluation and reflection of school-based curriculum.The experimental data were collected and analyzed.And the results shows that after the implementation of the school-based course "life-oriented teaching of biology in a middle school",the experimental class was significantly better than the control class in terms of its interest in biology,enthusiasm,participation and academic performance in biology class.Therefore,the implementation of school-based courses related to the life-oriented teaching of biology can improve students’ interests in learning biology.It can also improve students’ enthusiasm and participation in biology classes.This can help improve students’ academic performance,and cultivate students’ ability to combine theory with practice and apply what they have learned.The development and practice of this course also provide experience for other subjects in the school.
