| The mathematics curriculum standards for compulsory education(2011)clearly puts forward the ten core qualities of mathematics, which are number sense, symbol consciousness, data analysis, geometric intuition, spatial concept, reasoning ability, operational ability, model thinking, application consciousness and innovation ability. The establishment of model thinking is one of the important qualities for students to solve practical problems. In the mathematics curriculum, attention should be paid to the development of students’ model thoughts. The establishment of model thoughts is a basic way for students to comprehend and understand the correlation between mathematics and the real world, and can help students improve their interest in learning mathematics and their consciousness of application innovation. This study takes the students in the Miao nationality area of qiandongnan prefecture as the research object, and makes a comprehensive use of research methods such as literature method, pen and paper test method, interview method and case analysis method.First, the general status of mathematical modeling literacy of senior students in miao region;Second, whether there is a difference between the mathematical modeling literacy and gender of students in miao region;Whether there is significant difference between urban and rural students’ mathematical modeling literacy in miao nationality area;Whether there are significant differences in mathematical modeling literacy among miao and han students;Whether there is a difference between the mathematical modeling literacy of students in miao region and their grades;Thirdly, whether there is a correlation between the mathematical modeling literacy of students in miao region. This study mainly draws the following conclusions :(1)in general, the mathematical modeling literacy of students in miao region is not high, and the overall average level is between level 1 and level 2,lower than the theoretical average level.(2)from the perspective of gender, the average score of male students in modeling literacy test is lower than the overall average score, while the average score of female students is higher than the overall average score. In addition, there are significant differences in mathematical modeling literacy and gender among students in this region. There are significant differences between urban and rural students in mathematical modeling literacy, and urban students are rural students. There is no difference between the mathematical modeling literacy of students in this region and their ethnic group. There are significant differences in the performance of mathematical modeling literacy among students of different grades, and students of grade 6 are higher than those of grade 5.(3)the mathematical modeling literacy of students in this region is positively correlated with their academic performance in mathematics. |
