A Study On Interpersonal Trust And Its Related Factors Of Hearing Impaired Middle School Students

The development of trust ability had positive effect on perfect personality and good social adaptability.Interpersonal trust was the subjective experience of people's reliability,dependence and security in the process of long-term interaction,which could reflect the state of social trust to a certain extent.This study aimed to deeply understand the development of interpersonal trust among hearing-impaired middle school students in China and provide reference or guidance for teachers and parents to implement effective intervention.This study consisted of two parts: one was dividing explicit interpersonal trust into peer trust and trust of others according to previous research.Then comparing the differences in gender,period,the main way of communicating,hearing loss degree,use of assistive devices,single child,single parent family and place of origin of peer trust and trust of others to explore the hearing-impaired middle school students' explicit characteristics of interpersonal trust.Besides,analyzing the relationship between explicit interpersonal trust and self-esteem,life satisfaction,loneliness and social anxiety.The other was exploring the characteristics of implicit interpersonal trust and the relationship between implicit interpersonal trust and explicit interpersonal trust.The research results were as follows:(1)The level of peer trust and trust of others of the hearing-impaired middle school students were medium.The average score of dependability dimension of peer trust was the highest,while the average score of predictability was the lowest.(2)There were significant differences in the main way of communicating,use of assistive devices,whether the students were the only child,whether the students were born in a single-parent family and students' origin of peer trust of hearing-impaired middle school students.In addition,the peer trust of the hearing-impaired middle school students who mainly used oral or hand-mouth communication was significantly higher than that of who mainly used sign language.The peer trust of the hearing-impaired students who used cochlear implant or hearing aid was significantly higher than that who did not use assistive devices.The peer trust of only children was significantly higher than that of non-only children.The peer trust of hearing-impaired middle school students in non-single-parent families was significantly higher than that in single-parent families.The peer trust of the hearing-impaired middle school students whose origin was urban was significantly higher than that whose origin was rural.There was no significant difference in gender,period and hearing loss degree of peer trust.There was no significant difference in gender,period,hearing loss degree,the main way of communicating,use of assistive devices,single child,single parent family and place of origin of trust of others.(3)There was a significant positive correlation between peer trust and self-esteem.Besides,faith could predict self-esteem.There was no significant correlation between trust of others and self-esteem.There was a significant positive correlation between peer trust and life satisfaction and faith could predict life satisfaction.There was a negative correlation between trust of others and life satisfaction.There was a significant negative correlation between peer trust and loneliness.Trust could also predict loneliness negatively.There was also a significant negative correlation between trust of others and loneliness and trust also could negatively predict loneliness.There was a significant negative correlation between peer trust and social anxiety and faith could predict social anxiety negatively.There was a significant negative correlation between trust of others and trust of others could predict social anxiety negatively.(4)The hearing-impaired middle school students had implicit interpersonal trust.Explicit interpersonal trust and implicit interpersonal trust were two different constructs.They were independent relatively of each other.(5)There was no significant difference in gender,period,the main way of communicating,hearing loss degree,use of assistive devices,whether the one-child,whether the single parent and students' origin of hearing-impaired middle school students' implicit interpersonal trust.It also had no significant correlation with selfesteem,life satisfaction,loneliness and social anxiety.However,there was a significant negative correlation between the separation of implicit interpersonal trust and peer trust and life satisfaction.
