Study On The Huizhou Binxing In Qing Dynasty

In the Qing Dynasty,the imperial examination system,as a way of selecting talents,has enabled many poor children to have the opportunity to change their own and family fate.But with the development of times and the cost for studying is increasing,many scholars drop out of school and test.In order to change the situation of talented people and the writing are dropping down,Binxing,which is mainly used to fund the scholars’ examination,is also accompanied.In the subsequent development process,it shows obvious era and regional characteristics,but with the end of the imperial examination system and the demise of the Qing Dynasty,Binxing also finished its journey at this time.Therefore,on the basis of Qing Dynasty,this article from the perspective of the history of education to explore the characteristics of Huizhou Binxing and its impact on Huizhou.The article is divided into four chapters and the contents of each chapter are summarized as follows:The first chapter discusses the background and development of Huizhou Binxing in the Qing Dynasty.This chapter explores the background of Huizhou Binxing from three aspects: government supply,expenditures and the tradition of aiding students.On this basis,this chapter will further explore the development of Huizhou Binxing in the Qing Dynasty.According to its development characteristics in different periods,it is divided into the initial stage,the development and prosperity stage,and the recession and extinction stage.The second chapter mainly discusses the development of Huizhou Binxing in specific activities.This chapter discusses the officials who held the Bing Xing ceremony before the scholars went to the exam.Then,from the time of issuance,the place of issuance,the object of issuance,the procedure of issuance,the method and amount of issuance,and the form of currency issued to understand how silver is distributed to the scholars.The third chapter mainly discusses the management of Huizhou Binxing.In terms of asset sources,it mainly includes bureaucrats,gentry,businessmen and other donor groups.In terms of asset operation,it mainly includes two ways: Put money in the pawnshop to make a living and renting.In terms of asset management,it mainly discussed from three aspects: management personnel,management content and management methods.The fourth chapter focuses on the impact of Binxing on Huizhou and its development and transformation.The impact of Binxing on Huizhou is mainly reflected in education and society.In terms of education,Binxing not only gives some money to students but also reward them.At the same time,it also solves the problem of insufficient travel expenses for scholars.In the social aspect,Bin Xing had a positive impact on the style of writing and the social atmosphere.At the same time,it has an impact on the traditional cultural structure,which is based on the family.But with the abolition of the imperial examination system,Binxing was transferred to the new school’s funding and continued to exist.
