| Preschool teachers’ professional identity plays an essential role in the up growing of teachers’ specialty and stabling teacher’s standard.There are both professional preschool teachers and non-professional preschool teachers who are willing to be a teacher to obtain the Teacher Certification in Shanghai Municipality.In this study,193 preschool teachers in Shanghai Municipality as the research object,trying to use literature method,survey methods and interviews to explore their professional identity,and to make the comparison between the two kinds of teachers.Finally,find the questions and provide some suggestions to motivate the teachers’ professional identity,according to the problems identified.This research formed a theoretical framework and choose the six dimensions which are “Teachers’ professional goals”,“emotion”,“competency”,“dedication”,“continuous promise” and “social supports” according to theories.Making an identity questionnaire and Trying to obtain information from Professional Preschool Teachers and Non-professional Preschool Teachers in Shanghai Municipality.Research indicates:Professional Preschool Teachers and Non-professional Preschool Teachers’ professional identity belongs to superior middling.Non-professional Preschool Teachers’ professional identity level is slightly higher than Professional Preschool Teachers.The tendency of Professional Preschool Teachers and Non-professional Preschool Teachers in the six dimensions is similar.But on the age,teaching age,technical title and marital status,there are significant differences in Professional Preschool Teachers,while only technical title makes a significant differences in Non-Professional Preschool Teachers.Through analysis the current situation of Professional Preschool Teachers and Non-professional Preschool Teachers’ professional identity,the similar tendency of six dimensions and the difference among other factors to find out the suggestions to improvethe teachers’ professional identity of Professional Preschool Teachers and Non-professional Preschool Teachers.Social level,it should introduce policies to support the preschool education’s healthy development,the media should improve the social’s correct recognition to motive the social class of preschool education,the law should confirm the legal identity of preschool teachers.The kindergarten level,it should set up scientific training to teach,plan teachers’ work effectively,respect teachers’ personal characteristics,pay attention to teachers’ career development of different ages,pay attention to and organize the trade union activities to improve teachers’ quality of work life.Personal level,teachers should build correct career recognition and explicit the reasonable objective of the struggle,learn the suitable things to improve the competence,enrich the after-hour to balance the work and family to raise the ability of facing the difficulties. |
